Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Innovation Exchange Team are currently looking for a person for a fixed term 3-year contract to be part of an adventurous and exciting project that has arisen out of the EU funded Horizon Europe Research Program. The project is aimed at researching and developing new methodologies and techniques for realising new Cloud-Edge MetaOS for next generation cloud computing. The role presents a great opportunity to be part of a consortium of influential actors from industry and academia and to be part of a team that will work on the cutting edge of technology to help shape the future of cloud computing and the setting of new standards and protocols.

You will lead IBM's participation in the project consortium and work towards delivering IBM's technical and research oriented objectives and commitments. This will involve working with other partners in the European consortium with the support your IBM colleagues. You will deploy, configure and document the cloud/edge infrastructure as needed to support the IBM proof of concept environments, and subsequently engage in the R&D activities required to infuse new levels of intelligence and innovation into the management and orchestration of the cloud/edge/IoT environments via the application of data analytics techniques.

The person most suited to this role would be able to lead and communicate ideas, technical designs and specifications and be comfortable with collaborating across functional borders. Would be methodical in approach to design and development of technical ideas. A high level of initiative and personal drive is required as this will be an environment where you will be coming in at day one to help design and shape the technical architecture as well as implementing some part of it in a proof of concept environment. Good verbal and written communication is important, as is fluency in English and an ability to clearly document results.
